Terence "Terry" Woods was a long running character in Emmerdale from w:c:emmerdale:Episode 1944 (2nd February 1995) to w:c:emmerdale:Episode 5817 (13th January 2011). Terry was involved in many storylines including his affair with Viv Windsor, a stroke in 2003, his relationship with Dawn Hope, and later marriage to her, and his death in a fire in 2011. Terry was played by w:c:emmerdale:Billy Hartman.

Terry Woods was born on the 12 April 1957 to w:c:emmerdale:Duke Woods and w:c:emmerdale:Mrs Woods.

1995-2011[]

Terry was first seen in February 1995 with wife Britt when the brewery persuaded w:c:emmerdale:Alan Turner to take on a bar manager at w:c:emmerdale:The Woolpack. Terry met former landlord w:c:emmerdale:Amos Brearly who was not impressed with the bar manager approach. Terry tried to schmooze around Amos. Terry became good friends with w:c:emmerdale:Vic Windsor. Terry and Britt divorced in 1995 and Britt left the village.

In November 2000, Terry saw the smoke from the barn after the barn fire at The Sugdens. He saw the police there and told them he was a friend of the family. The police put him down as a suspect but this later went nowhere. Terry was also a suspect in the w:c:emmerdale:Tom King murder case. Terry died on January 13th 2011 after attempting to rescue w:c:emmerdale:Viv Hope from the burning post office.
