Mowlam's Quarry was a quarry in w:c:emmerdale:Connelton, owned by the nasty w:c:emmerdale:Harry Mowlam.

1983-1985[]
By 1983, Harry Mowlam was a successful quarry boss. He was a frightening man, and used shortcuts and did dodgy deals. He also treated his dog very badly. One day, w:c:emmerdale:Matt Skilbeck went to the quarry and was concerned for Mowlam's dog. Matt even confiscated the dog, and Mowlam wanted to take Matt to court for theft. Mowlam even dumped some rubble at Emmerdale Farm, where Matt lived and farmed at. w:c:emmerdale:Jackie Merrick did a job for Mowlam and Mowlam refused to pay him. Mowlam even ran Jackie off his motorbike once. The police did a deal with Mowlam, they will overlook his dodgy dealings if he drops the case against Matt. Mowlam told Matt he could keep the mutt.
2 years later, in late 1985, Mowlam sold the quarry. Mowlam was involved in a robbery and hid the proceeds on his quarry as he awaited the changeover of owners. The police suspected Mowlam was involved in the robbery so they visited the quarry but Mowlam had the stash well hidden. Mowlam flashed his cash, and said that it was the money from the quarry sale, when it was from the robbery. In January 1986, Mowlam was killed by w:c:emmerdale:Derek Warner, who had been his partner in crime, due to Mowlam hogging the proceeds of the robbery, and bragging about his riches. What happened to the quarry under its new owners after 1986 is uncertain.
